I''m often asked about the use of bags with built-in wheels, popularized by the Travelpro Rollaboard series, and currently very popular. These were originally designed for the use of airline flight crews, and are heavily promoted. They can work well if your travels consist mostly of long airport (and hotel) corridors, and some find them an appropriate solution. Here you want a backpack; luggage carts are great in airports and hotels, but fail miserably on cobblestone streets (and in case you hadn''t noticed, many urban streets today are becoming more cobblestone-like). You want a real suspension system, particularly a padded hip belt, because the weight is supposed to be on your pelvis, not on your shoulders.
